Nurses

The nurses carry out a wide variety of tasks such as:

  • obtaining blood samples
  • minor and complex wound management including leg ulcers
  • travel health advice and vaccinations
  • child immunisations and advice
  • family planning & women’s health including cervical smears
  • women’s health screening such as cervical screening
  • sexual health services
  • screening and helping patients to manage long term conditions

We also have a triage clinic is run by the Advanced Nurse Practitioner. They also review bloods and other results such as scans as well.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
